When the lovely people at BakerDays contacted me and asked if I would be interested in reviewing one of their letterbox cakes I jumped at the chance. It was my dad’s 70th birthday coming up and we were going away for the weekend as a surprise so making and then transporting a cake was out of the question. This was the perfect answer.

The kids love to help in the kitchen, so in a vain attempt to get them to eat healthier we got the spiralizer out. I thought if we could make the vegetables fun, and get the kids involved in their preparation, then they might just try something new! Here’s how we got on.
I got into jam making a few years ago, and even though I don’t eat much jam myself I love making it. Nothing gives me greater pleasure than turning produce grown in our garden in to lovely jam. We have rhubarb in abundance this year, so I am experimenting with different rhubarb jam recipes, and this is the first of them.

A few weeks ago we had a week away with all the family to Disneyland Paris. I loved Disney films as a child, (and still do!) and I’ve always wanted to go to Disneyland. My kids have been bought up on Disney, and my little girl especially was excited to meet her favourite princesses. As you can imagine we were all very excited! We had a great week, but it wasn’t all pixie dust and fairytale dreams.
These were a little bit of an experiment, but actually turned out really well and seemed to be a big hit in our house! I would like to add that I made them before joining Slimming World, as they are definitely a naughty but nice treat!
