Welcome back to the Kids and Kreativity linky party! This is a linky for all your blog posts that encourage creativity or inspire imagination in children. They can be about anything from baking with kids, messy play ideas, childrens’ crafts, book reviews, days out, travel…. you name it! Anything that gets the creative juices flowing, or sparks kids’ wonderful imaginations can be linked up.
We have just had the best few weeks. Following our return from an amazing trip to Disneyland Paris, I hosted a Coffee & Crafts morning in our local village hall to raise some money for Great Ormond Street, celebrated Easter with family and squeezed in a last minute trip to Legoland before returning to work and school on Wednesday.
It’s been great fun, but exhausting too! What have you been up to this Easter? I’d love to hear about your adventures in the comments!
The Last #KidsandKreativity Linky
We had a total of 9 posts linked up, which is amazing considering it’s been over the Easter holidays, and I don’t know about you but I didn’t get much blogging done!
However, the commenting was far from ideal.
The minimum amount of commenting is still one of the host posts and two other posts of your choosing per post you link up. That’s 3 comments minimum per post. So if you link up two blog posts you need to make a minimum of 6 comments, which may mean popping back towards the end of the linky when more posts have been added.
Most people did (just) the minimum amount of commenting, but some didn’t which is very dissapointing.
I really don’t want stop people from joining in the linky, and I really don’t want to stop hosting the linky altogether. BUT this is supposed to be about supporting each other in a like minded community of bloggers. So please don’t link up and run, and only link up if you have the time to contribute.
As a side note, if you have already read a post through another linky, still pop back and comment with the #KidsandKreativity hashtag- it still counts!
OK, so as the commenting wasn’t ideal and we didn’t have a top commenter, I have decided that this week I will feature just my favourite post. That was Encourgaing Children to Start Sewing, from A Rose Tinted World. My two are just starting to show an interest in sewing, and it has been great to get all my old sewing stuff out again. She shares some great tips on how to get your kids started, so go and check it out.
This Week’s #KidsandKreativity Linky
This time I am sharing my first Disneyland Paris post, all about all the amazing Mickey shaped sweet treats you can find there. And an older post (did I mention I’ve had no time to blog recently!) from a few years ago on Painting Pebble Critters. I came across it the other day, and with all the hype recently on decorating and hiding rocks I thought it might need revisiting!
The Facebook group is still a little slow with not much interaction, but I will keep it open and do my best to be more present there. It’s not just about this linky. I would like the group to support like minded kids’ craft and activity bloggers. I’m always happy to offer advice and grow support networks. I am far from ‘making it’ as a kids’ craft blogger, but I have learnt a lot in the past three and a half years and would happily share any knowledge that I have.
I have also created a Kids and Kreativity twitter list for anyone that has joined in with the linky this year. It just makes it easier to see each others content to RT and share. If your not on the list and want to be then just let me know!
I will also continue to pin all the posts from the linky to my #KidsandKreativity board on Pinterest, and I often pin from that board to my other boards. Pinterest is my biggest platform, and with currently 1.2 million monthly unique viewers, make sure your posts have lovely eye catching vertical pins in them to get maximum exposure.
For all those linking up for the first time, have a read through the linky information and rules, but if you have any questions just message me.
The linky will open every other Friday at 10.00 am, and stay open for 10 days.
Please, please, please make sure you finish your commenting by 7pm on the second Thursday and make sure you add the #KidsandKreativity to your comments. This helps me keep track of the comments, and make sure everyone is doing the minimum amount of commenting. Please DO NOT link up and run, it’s not fair on others, and is not what this linky is about.
This linky party is all about creating a nice community of like minded bloggers, and increasing exposure to blog posts that might inspire people. So feel free to comment away and share posts that you love. The more that you put into the linky, the more that you will get out.
So come and be part of the #KidsandKreativity community and link up your creative and inspiring posts. Come and check out the Pinterest board and join the Facebook group and get involved. Make sure you grab the badge below, have a quick look at the rules, and get linking!
