Puffy paint art projects are great fun for kids to do. The puffiness adds interest for little ones, a three dimensional element to art projects, and can also be a sensory activity as well as a creative one.

You can buy ready made puffy paint for a variety of different media, or you can make your own. The simpliest way is by mixing shaving foam and PVA glue and adding optional extras such as food colourings and glitter. There is a great simple Puffy Paint Recipe over at Little Bins for Little Hands if you want to give it a go.

However there are many other different recipes for homemade puffy paint, including those that puff up after being microwaved or even edible versions!

So if you would like to get some inspiration for some puffy paint projects for the kids to do, then have a read through this round up of some great puffy paint projects, or pin it for later!

Interstellar Puffy Paint Ideas

The texture of puffy paint means it lends itself really nicely to creating moons and planets, so there is no surprise that there are quite a few space related puffy paint projects out there.

In fact we created a puffy paint moon not so long ago, which still takes pride of place on Oliver’s wall in his space themed bedroom.

Winter Projects

Naturally puffy paint looks like snow, so it’s perefect to use in Winter crafts and projects.

Add A Bit Of Colour

Puffy paint is extremely versatile, and can be coloured very easily. As a result you can come up with some of these bright and cheerful art ideas!

Something A Little Bit Different

There are few limitations of puffy paint. You can use other media with it such as cotton wool balls, or use it on textiles, or even make edible puffy paint!

So that’s it. Hopefully it has given you lots of ideas and inspiration for puffy paint projects for kids. If you give any a go, I’d love to hear about it in the comments.
