Crafty Creatives Subscription Box- A Review

Crafty Creatives

I love subscription boxes, and have recently reviewed a children’s recipe box and a bath bomb making kit.  So when I saw a tweet from Crafty Creatives looking for crafty bloggers to review one of their monthly boxes, I was quick to reply.

Crafty Creatives Subscription Boxes

Crafty Creatives produce monthly subscription boxes for creative people. Each box contains everything you need for a complete project. They are suitable for both beginners and more experienced crafters to learn new crafts or rediscover old ones. Each box is £15, and contains a minimum of £15 (and often more!) worth of crafty materials and instructions for your monthly project.  Previous boxes have included a concrete planter kit, sock giraffe, string art, lip balm making and even paper cutting.

Making a Felt Woodland Garland

I was pleased to see when my box arrived it was to make this really cute woodland garland. Perfect for this time of year. The garland consisted of 8 little felt woodland animals.

I haven’t done any needlework for a long time (unless you count sewing on a button!), so it was nice to rediscover it.  I decided to start with the mushroom to ease myself in gently.  The instructions were very comprehensive and easy to follow.

I really enjoyed cutting out all the felt shapes, and taking my time slowly stitching them together. I even learnt how to blanket stitch so that’s a new skill!  I was really pleased with how my mushroom turned out!

It did take a full evening for me to complete my mushroom, so this isn’t a quick 5 minute craft project. However, the good thing about this craft project is that you can dip in and out of it as you wish.

Since finishing my mushroom, I have also completed the hedgehog. I forgot to include the ribbon, so I still need to sew that on, but otherwise I am pleased with what I have done so far.

I will continue to take my time, and make the other 6 felt critters as and when I have a free evening, and I will update the post with a picture of the finished garland when it’s completed.

What do you think of craft subscription boxes? Have you tried one before?
